National Service (NS)

Oh! Where was I? I resigned from 7-Eleven on 16 June 2006. Then I got enlisted on 19 June 2006. Just a weekend to rest and prepare for NS sounds crazy, but I am the lucky one: Due to my rather severe case of scoliosis, I was downgraded to PES E. Which means, only 1 week Basic Military Training (BMT) for me, though it has recently been extended to 4 weeks for PES E now. Can't really say it is a bad thing, cos my unit life felt a little like chalet, and I got posted to MINDEF subsequently. Unlike my elder brother, who got posted to various units during his 2.5 years of army like a normadic tribe. I stayed in MINDEF throughout. Also lucky for me that NS has shortened to 2 years when my time to serve has arrived, and the NS allowance increments.

To be frank, I am not totally free of resent for NS. During the 2 years when I have occasional classmates gathering, those ladies shared with us what they are doing in their various accounting jobs, as well as their promotion/pay increments/bonuses. It does piss me off for missing out on all these. However, I was telling myself since reality dictates that I am going to serve 2 years of my life in army, just make the best out of it. Besides, being a clerk who doesn't need to sweat it out on the field, what's more can I ask for?

The enormous administrative workload there makes me understood what information system is all about. Not to mention the many events I got to help up with. Yes! Events! Events Communication was the tougest IS (Interdisciplinary) module I took in Ngee Ann poly. I used what I learnt for Christmas Party organisation at Micron. Little did I expect to use it so extensively in army.

Now that my army has ended, there is one more thing I am going to miss out on: Reservist. However, Army Museum is held annually near where I live and that can alway make up for it. A good way to stay in touch with the army.

PS1: I ORDed on 18 June 2008.
PS2: I read with interest today an article on reservist on The Sunday Times, Life section. You can also share your experiences here.
PS3: So happy to get an Outstanding Certificate of Service.

My First Official Job: 7-Eleven

And the story continues……

After my attachment ended, I touched up my attachment report and submitted it. After submission, I was actively looking for a temp job as I realized the importance of a good resume after my last semester in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and I do not wish to rely solely on the 5 months attachment as that hardly counts as my first official job. However, most of the employers do not wish to hire me as I was pending for NS (National Service) and I have not receive any notice of when I was to be enlisted.

Desperate, I gave 7-Eleven a try. They pay only $3.50/hour and they were not too willing to hire me as I was deemed over-qualified for the job (I completed my diploma program already). However, they decided to hire me as I later realized that they were severely short-handed. Most of the colleagues I met during my first week there were loaned from other 7-Eleven stores. My store manager broke her back and had to be away for 2 weeks. One full-time staff disappeared at that time due to her serious family issues (She came back subsequently). My shift manager was the key person keeping the store operational. And after I started working, I worked for 8 days straight before resting for just 1 day to fill in the shifts. In fact, I usually work 5 days per week despite being a part-time staff.

My greatest surprise of all was the job demand itself. Initially, I thought all I had to do was to collect money at the POS (Point-of-Sale) as a cashier. I was gravely wrong. How naïve of me not to be aware of the wide variety of services available in 7-Eleven. They got top-up services (Cashcard, Autopass, EzLink Card), bill payments (M1, Starhub, PUB, Sunpage, HSBC, that time don’t have Singtel though), and even the time-consuming SIM Card registration (it takes at least 5 minutes to complete). Most amusing of all, (maybe because we transact phone bills, do SIM Card registrations, and sell prepaid cards for phone calls), some customers enquires us about various mobile services and issues when there was a Starhub store opposite us! Gosh!

There was once I complaint to my full-time colleague: “I am just a part-time staff. Why do I feel like a full-time staff?” She replied: “At least you still feel like a staff, I feel like a maid, everyday clean this, clean that” Hahaha! True enough. She do night shift quite frequently to earn more money. Night shifts require us to clean up the various machines like Mr. Softie machines and refrigerators, as well as stocking up. Though not physically healthy to do night shifts, it was an interesting experience for me.

However, before I sound like I am complaining too much, I want to say that it was a highly rewarding learning experience for me. I am also glad to know the wonderful colleagues whom I worked with. We really worked like a family. Miss you all.

PS: I was committed to 7-Eleven from 13 March to 16 June 2006.

Revival/Attachment

Having left this blog untouched for 5 years, I decided to do a revival after seeing an encouraging comment left behind by an anonymous blogger. Well, I can explain why this blog has been inactive for half a decade and this is exactly what I am going to do for the revival. Let me continue from what I stopped. Before I do that, however, many thanks to my readers who continue to visit my deserted blog. The visitor count is close to 900 as of this writing.

Yes, my blogging habit fizzles out towards the end of 2005. It all began with something called “work”, or “attachment”, to be precise. My attachment was at Micron Semiconductor Asia Pte Ltd. I never worked before that. I tried looking for part-time job, but economy was just bad. Besides, I looked much younger than my age, and with my small physical size, all these were enough to dissuade employers from hiring me. Therefore, this attachment was a whole new experience for me. Being an accountancy student, I had my first (and the only one so far) hands-on experience of doing accounting jobs.

Many of my classmates were posted to CPA (Certified Public Accountant) firms. There were a lot of talks about CPA firms before our attachment commences. Most attention was placed on the big 4 CPA companies. In case you don’t know what these 4 companies are, they are: PWC (PriceWaterhouseCooper), KPMG, Deloitte, and Ernst & Young.

I didn’t know what CPA firms were about since I was posted to a manufacturing firm instead. However, based on the feedbacks I received, CPA firm is a good training ground for accountants, but not many can endure the demanding environment. It is also an avenue to learn full sets of accounting. I did partial accounting for my attachment (Accounts Payable) and I learnt plenty already, including local payments, foreign exchange, freight payments, petty cash, and fixed assets. Having to juggle work with attachment report wasn’t easy, so I forgot about this blog altogether……

PS: My attachment period was from 26 September 2005 to 17 February 2006.

Film recommendation: The 40-Year-Old Virgin

I didn't find this film interesting at first, especially its title. What is so interesting about a middle-aged virgin? However, it became a box office hit in both US and Singapore. It also draws positive reviews. Therefore, I decided to give this film a shot. As it turns out, it was fun to watch, though it was not entirely inoffensive.

The lead actor, Steve Carell (He played Uncle Arthur in "Bewitched"), was charming as the title character. Hope to see more of him in future. As of this writing, it is showing only in a few cinemas in Singapore, with minimal showtimes. Do catch it soon.

P.S. This film is rated M18 in Singapore. Wait for the DVD if you are not legally eligible to watch this film.

Controversy, controversy, controversy...........

Sorry for not posting for such a long time. The key reason reason being that I feel uneasy about the conviction of the few bloggers. Yes, we ought to talk sensibly, but hidding some of our thoughts and feeling would defeat the purpose of an "online diary". The story about students being warned for making complains and negative comments about teachers made me cringed actually. We got to admit it: Not all teachers are good. There are teachers who actually pose a bad example to the students. (Don't sue me, I didn't mention your name).

Making racist remarks is totally unacceptable. In fact, prejudice should not even be accepted. However, you cannot please everyone. If I make a bad comment of a shop, would the manager sue me for defamation? If I write a bad review for a movie, would the movie studio sue me for fraud? That is why I allow replies to my comments. Talk to me if there is anything that I said failed to please you.

Last of all, if I had offended anyone here, I apologise to you.

What a day to waste......

Slept 10 hours last night: I overslept. No, I have no programme to attend to today. As a matter of fact, I don't even have a schedule or plan for the day. This is the last weekday of my only holiday week before my 5 months long attachment. "What's up with sleeping 10 hours then", you may ask. Well, my working hour begins at 8 am, and my travel time to my workplace takes around 80 minutes. Therefore, I have to get use to waking up early, or else will would be tough going to work.

I went back to school after breakfast, probably for the last time this year, to collect my $10 refundable deposit for the 3-hour business etiquette course. The lesson was supposed to be at 10am today, but it was cancelled due to poor response. What a shame, though. It appears to be a fun and useful course for me. Many people have already taken up business etiquette for Inter-disciplinary Studies (IS), which I did not. However, I did not regret not choosing Business Etiquette. I thoroughly enjoyed the IS modules (Social Psychology and Drama & Poetry) that I picked, ans I did well in both modules. As a matter of fact, there are many interesting modules which I would love to take for that module. Well, what can I do about it, beside choosing the modules I have the most interest in?

I had Root Beer Float for tea-break today. The Root Bear tastes great, and the ice-cream (vanilla, I believe) was just as delicious. However, I wondered what is the purpose for putting ice-cream into soft drink. To let the ice-cream melt in the soft drinks? I allowed some ice cream to melt in root beer as an experiment. The result? A puke-inducing beverage. Conclusion? More puzzling mystery: How on earth did soft drink float survive in the market for so long?

Marina Square revisited

Today I was supposed to go to a fair with Ailing no.1 at Suntec City, but decided against it when we were finally there as it is not entirely convenient for us to go in. The visitors are mostly businessman in formal costume, which our costumes were definitely not comparable to. Beside we had to register before entering, and registration appears impossible for us, as the information requirement don't seem relevant to us.

Instead, we went to Marina Walk and Marina Square nearby. It was the first time I was entering Marina Walk (New building?). It seems like a high class place for high-income visitors. Later, we took a walk around the newly renovated Marina Square. It has been a long time since I last went there. It is a place that I patronise quite frequently.

Sadly, the new Marina Square is definitely not the old Marina Square that I once knew and now misses. It was so family-oriented. Now, it shouts "High-class!" and "Expensive!". What's up with all the pricey restaurants and stores? Is this an attempt to compliment the shopping centre with the government's plan to develope Marina area into an integrated-resort to cater to rich tourists?

An unusual day

Part 1: Stood Up

Today I was suppose to meet my classmates for steamboat dinner at Marina Bay. However, the gathering was cancelled somehow the night before at midnight. I found this incident painfully familiar. I wonder why are they always busy. However, what really irks me is that they actually agreed to the gathering before changing their mind one by one at the last minute. If they are not free, or don't even want to go in the first place, why even bother agreeing to go? This only makes me feel cheated.

Part 2: Company hunt

At noon, I received Ailing's no.1 sms. I called her and told her that the rest of my day is cleared by the cancellation of the gathering. So we decided to go to our respective attachment comapanies to get outselves familiarise with the location and the travel time.

First, we went to F&N in Tuas where Ailing was attached to. She already had to travel for around 1 hour on bus and mrt from her house to Boon Lay MRT station. To her surprised, we actually had to travel for another 25 minutes on bus from Boon Lay interchange to the company, during off-peak hour! And that excludes waiting time!

Next, we went to Micron Semi Conductor in Boon Keng where I am attached to. Similarly, it is a long journey there from my house, but my situation is far better than Ailing's. It was only a 2 minutes walk from Boon Keng MRT station. In fact, there are plenty of shops and food outlets near the company. There would be lots of choices for me during lunchtime. In fact, there is also this 24-hour DVD rental kiosk nearby. Last but not least, there is also this Chinese acupunch(spell?) and massage.

Part 3: Reunion

After our company hunt ended, we separated at Dhougby Gauht MRT station before I went to meet Jasmine and Elisa at Suntec city where they were working. It has been ages since we last met and you won't know how much I missed them. We had dinner at a hawker center there before going to Carrefour and doing a bit of window shopping.

Examination timetable

The examination schedule for my last semester in Ngee Ann Polytechnic has to be the best I ever had. In the past, they always cramp all 5 major modules into 5 days, 1 module per day. It leaves us with just a day or less (depending on the exam time of the day) to study each module. Of course, one would think it be appropriate to study during the 1 week study break before the exam period. However, such an arrangement does not work for me.

You may study during the study break week, but it is easy to forget what you revised during the revision week and studying 5 modules con-currently can cause confusion. Thies semester, the 5 modules are spread over 7 days, leaving us more time to prepare for 2 of the papers. For some reason, it is better for me as I have time to get over the previous paper and more time to prepare for the next paper. It would be best we have a paper after every 2 days. Still, each to his own. The current exam timetable style seems to work for most students.

Event communication

Even though I often complaint about hoe tedious and stressful this IS(Inter-disciplinary studies) module is, I am glad that I actually took up this module. I learnt quite a lot from this module, and the module actually pushed me to my limit (probably even stretched my limit). The 30% report demands us to put in what we want for an event, and it includes every little thing: The objective of the event, target audiences, day of the event, admission fee and collection method or free admission, hire of relevant staffs and costs of labour, the various programmes and the contents of each program, the utilities and the endless items required (shall I also mention the costs and the suppliers?), venue, official budget, advertising and marketing style.

These are just the headings and the sub-headings of the report. Try completing it within a couple of weeks with 2 other group members, and juggling this assignment with the equally tedious AFA project and the tutorial of other modules.

As tough as it was, I learnt to be more appretiative of the various events that I attend. It takes a lot of commitment, patient, management, manpower, and money to organise a major event. I also learnt the necessary skills that could prepare me for the future. You need not be a professional event planner to use event communication. Even lecturers of Ngee Ann Poly also need to use event communications.

It is also an interesting module. Whenever I go for an event or the likes, I would tend to evaluate the performance of event planning, detect faults and learn from it. Better yet, acquire the successful uniqueness of the event and probably apply it in the future!

Blog the blog

Special thanks to my readers who take their time to read my posts and replying to my posts. I don't exactly aspire to be the most famous or controversial blogger or whateverso. I just want to share some of my experiences with other people. It is also a mean for me to kill time and hone my English language skill. As of this day, the visitor count hits more then 300, and I am very grateful already. For a blog which does not try to improve its image and is not exactly reader-friendly, I am delighted that there are people who really cares about what I write here. A big "Thank You" once more to those who are reading this. :-)

Yellow Ribbon Campaign

The 2nd 2-weeks-long Yellow Ribbon campaign has ended recently on 17th September. Before it began on 3rd September, I attended a talk in school. It was quite a successful event held at the large Lt 26. Glad to see so many people supporting the event. Some of the ex-convicts were there to tell us about their experiences, and allow us to emphatise with them. The somehow emphasized my belief that no one is perfect and everyone make mistakes.

The key is to forgive and give them a second chance. Sadly, our society is generally still rather unforgiving, and many still see people as black or white. I myself do not. I see people as different shades of greyness. Different people have different background, upbringing, exposure, learning expriences. Some of them were misled. However, we should not be prejudice against them. Giving them a second chance is not enough. We should also encourage them to move on in life anf give them a helping hand.

I also participated in the Yellow Ribbon Walk which was held on the first day of the campaign 3rd September at the eastern side of Singapore. The walk began outside the Changi Prison Wall. It ended at the Pasir Ris Park I think. Before the walk, the cast of "1San 4Ge 3Hao 2Ren" was also there to support the event (and promote the film ;P). There was also this ex-convict who performed the song which he won a competition for. It was a meaningful song and what a pleasant voice he possesses. The song goes something like this: "Not that I do not want to change for the better. It is just that I lack the courage to do so, and I really need your helping hand."

It is a very thoughful campaign and I will always support it. Still, I think more can be done to make the campaign more meaningful. Firstly, I suggest informing the public of the plight of the ex-convict and the dire cosequences of being prejudice against them. Sociologists or psychlogists could be invited to make useful speeches to allow the public to be more emphathetic towards them (and hopefully, the term "ex-convicts" will no longer be of common usage). Probably by doing so, Singapore can become a more forgiving and gracious society.

Terry Fox Run/Mid-autumn festival

Today being the mid-autumn festival, people celebrates by playing lanterns, candles, and sparkles, eat mooncakes and have chinese tea. If you celebrate mid-autumn festival in any other ways than those traditional ways that I mentioned above, do share with us. :)

Coincidently, I participated the Terry Fox Run today. Terry Fox was a young man who had one of his leg amputated when he was only 18 due to bone cancer. Through this experience, he decided to raise money from Canada to contribute to the cancer research to help thousands of cancer patients. He did so by running across Canada. Sadly, He died before he could complete his mission. However, his spirit remains glowing and his determination and perseverance continues to inspire many.

I donated $25 to participate in the run. Initially, I signed up for the run despite of the pricey registration fee because it is an opportunity to help the less fortunate, it was also for the CCA points and the free entry to the Sentosa. Other reasons include an opportunity to exercise, getting a feel of participating in a mass run (For my Event Communication project, we organised a fictitious mass walk in sentosa in similar location, so I thought it was interesting). However, Ailing No.1's key reason for participating was mostly because she was touched by the story of Terry Fox.

We were both very late for the run, but there was a heavy rain in the morning, so the walk was delayed. In fact, the competitive 8km run was cancelled due to the weather condition. Even the 4km fun run was shortened to 2 km due to similar reason. However, it went on smoothly. There were thousands and thousands of participants. Terry Fox would be proud. May Gob bless his soul.

Silkroad of Love (a.k.a. 1Si 4Lu)

Wow! Just purchased Fish Leong's latest album, "Silkroad of Love", and what a great album it is. Fish certainly redeemed herself from the huge disappointment that her previous album "4Yan 3Wei 2Die" created, at least for me. "4Yan 3Wei 2Die" consists of 11 songs, among which "1Jie 4Shou" (Accept) is one of my favourite songs of Fish's. "2Ning 4Xia" is a cute song, but, like the rest of the 9 songs, is also forgettable.

What a shame, especially after her Greatest Hits+New Songs album, "4Lian 4Ai 3De 4Li 4Liang" (The Power of Love). It features 10 of her most popular songs from her 1st 5 albums. Imagine having a greatest hit album after just 5 albums! Needless to say, I love all the 10 songs. As for the other 10 new songs, several of them reach the greatness of her most popular songs. The rest of them are hardly comparable to the best works of Fish's, but are listenable. It is this album that makes me a fan of Fish. I was so eager to buy her 6th album, "Yan Wei Die", but was so displeased with it after sampling through the songs. Manage to get hold of the song "Jie Shou" through the purchase of "Rock Super" compilation, which also features Fish's hit single "1Hua 2Yuan" (Garden) which I also love.

Now that I have listened to her 7th album "Si Lu", I couldn't be more pleased. I was expecting some bad songs. Of its 10 songs, they are all listenable! The album more or less reach the level of the new songs segment of her great "Lian Ai De Li Liang" album. The by-product I got from the purchase of this album is a 2006 calender set, which has 6 nice photos of Fish. :-D However, it does not state the public holidays or the lunar calender, much less school holidays. Beside, it came in poster form, so displaying it would be troublesome. Still, I am glad to have it as it is a limited edition calender restricted to the first batch of goods.

Conclusion: If you like Fish Leong, do not hesitate. Buy her latest album "Si lu" now!

P.S. I am not paid advertising fee by Rock Record. I am doing a mini advert for Fish as a fan. ^_^

P.S. 2 I am listening to the album now. ;-D

Happy Teacher's Day

Ironically, this is also the day when we meet our LO (Liaison Officer) for the attachment for the first time. Our respective will visit our workplace thrice throughout our work attachment. To be honest, I am not totally excited about going for attachment. However, being a young adult who never had a major part-time job, working in the office should be a whole new experience for me, or even a new phase of my life.

Thanks to the invitation of my ex-classmate, Wee Ping, I could visit my secondary school yesterday. It has been 2 and a half years since graduating from Juying Secondary School, but half of the teachers were still there. This year's teacher's day celebration seems to end quite late, at around 11 am. Went to saw the school performances. To be honest, I prefer the previous performances I got to enjoy as a student there. I even remember there is a fellow schoolmate who act as a comedian on special occasion. What a hoot he was. I sure miss him. We also notice that the students had chairs and benches to sit on. Maybe like Weeping said, there are significantly less students these days (Low birth rate?). We used to sit on the floor, and it was even more crampy than now it is with chairs.

For some reason, I decided to visit the D&T (Design & Technology) workshop, even though I regretted choosing that subject over F&N(Food and Nutrition). Met our workshop instructor there, and he had so much to share with us. He spent more than half an hour talking to us, and we stood there listening, until my legs tired already. However, everything he said make so much sense, and are both interesting and meaningful (such as parents nowaday spoil their children, don't really corporate with the school, and all). Apparently, he was very happy to see us again.

After the celebration end, I got to have a quick chat with my English techer, Mr. Lum. According to him, the formal celebration is the default dinner. 2 years ago, it was a lunch, and all the teachers had to rush off to the bus sending them to the lunch venue. Because of that, we had limited time to talk to the teachers. What a pity, for it was the 1st Teacher's Day after our graduation, and it was also the year with the most number of visiting ex-Jyians.

Later, I met my form teacher Miss Lee. She looks livlier than ever. As we were talking , there were students giving her presents. She said she don't really need those presents. She would be more than happy if graduate like me visit the school. Anyway, she was also more than willing to be my references. In fact, she would write double references when I go to university. So, I must jia you and then not let her down wor. Hope to be able to visit the school again.

Back at Ngee Ann poly, I typed greeting emails to 3 teachers, Linda Ng (AFA lecturer), Mrs Yong (MA2 tutor), and Simon Tan (MA2 tutor). I wanted to write to Ms. Tiew (Audit 2 tutor/ My advisor), and Mrs. Gopolan (Claw lecturer), but couldn't find their email address. As of this writing, I received very sweet replies from Linda Ng and Mr. Tan. Anyway, going off to see my LO soon. To end off, I will say it once more: "Happy Teacher's Day to all teachers!"

No more projects, but......

Our last project, marketing, was a good end to our project struggle of the semester. I was quite satisfied with the project. However, I am a tad skeptical about the grade. The tutor always release us early. He always end his tutorial within 1 hour. Maybe he was in the hurry to go home. Principle of Marketing (POM) is the last tutorial of the day, at 3PM. When my classmate Christine request for tutorial presentation, he declined and preferred interaction. Obviously, he just wanted to get his stuffs quickly done with and go home. He didn't even provide model answer! I requested for it after persuading from my classmate, and he declined too. In fact, he had a look of disdain. It is a wonder that POM was one of my best module for common test (Probably due to the 3 out of 4 questions elective and the number of topics).

I should have known it. He wants to go home early, so do we. However, when it comes to project presentation, he is equally impatient. Yes, we should keep presentation short and sweet. The instruction states that we should not exceed 20 minutes. Still, isn't it rude to cut people's presentation? He said that the first group presentation was half an hour and had to cut them, and ask them to just show them the rest of the slides. I timed 25 minutes. Duh.........

Of course, the rest of the group hurried for fear of being cut-off. We were the 3rd group to present, and managed to finish within 20 minutes. Before the presentation, my group members kept nagging to cut short my part (I had the most number of slides to present, and were quite wordy). Of course, I was well aware of that, and tried to assure them that I would over-run. However, they refuse to trust me. That is quite annoying, when your group members make it so clear to you that they don't trust you.

Came the last group (Only 2 person, as they were not from our class and the groups from our class did not accept them; my group did accept 1 not from our class, and our group project benefited from it), and the tutor fell asleep! The girl who finish talking and passed on to the male presenter laughed, and the whole class turned our head. There were laughter, but the tutor still did not open his eyes!!! He probably woke up only when the class claps at the end of the presentation. *Double duh*

He said that we can call him 2 weeks later to know our grade. 2 weeks! Anyway, this sem we worked so hard for our projects, yet the grades are C!!!!! Ahhhh!!!!! C for AFA! C for CLAW! Even C for MA2 workshop!!!!!!!! *Sigh*

AFA, AFA, AFA.............

Now that the project is over, we are now concentrating on Consolidation of Statements. It is a 5-weeks major topic, not unlike RFA's Notes to Financial Statement. Anyway, Consolidation is no less tedious than Notes to Financial Statement. Though it has minimal theory, there are around 10 journal entries or more to do. You would have to apply these journal entries to the consolidated Income Statement and Balance Sheet. Like Notes to Financial Statement, a lot of practice is required as there are a lot to write, and you have limited time to complete your paper during the exam.

However, I don't find it too difficult at the moment. Maybe because our tutor forced us to do tutorial everyweek (and fine $1 to those who didn't do). Believe me, after 4 tutorials of Consolidation of Statements, I am so sick of the topic already. However, I will continue to persevere on. I will not let my effort go to waste. So my advise to fellow students now doing APT: Do your tutorial constantly no matter how difficult it is or how busy you are. If you are consistently paced, you won't be totally clueless and confused during the study break, and you will have more time to devote to other modules.

Speaking of AFA project, it weighs 15% of the entire module, even though it is the most tedious and difficult project I have ever done. On the other hand, our marketing project weighs 20%. And what do we have to do? No report on microsoft word. Just a 20 minutes powerpoint presentation, and a hard copy to be submitted to tutor. What a discrepancy. Nevertheless, I do not resent doing the AFA project, for it is really an opportunity to learn and stretch our ability. Financial consultancy appears to be a handy skill to possess.

4Shun 2Shi 1Zhen (Clockwise)

Well, my post title is apparently a rip-off from Gigi Leung's latest CD album, consisting of 24 greatest hits and 3 news hits. Of course, my key reason for buying the CD is for her song "Shun Shi Zhen". However, all her other songs are good. Guess it is because she never released her own greatest hit album before (correct me if I am wrong), that's why she has many good songs to be compiled together. In particular, the last song, 4ai 3de 1dai 1jia (Cost of Love), was a song I last heard when I was still in primary school.

Anyway, I thought shun shi zhen is a very meaningful song. Though it applies to romance (I love the innocent touch to it, just like Guang Liang's "2Tong 4Hua", a.k.a. "Fairy Tales"), its concept can be dealt with a lot of things. As time goes by, the pain caused by a failed relationship will slowly heal. To me, time can do a lot of things. It let happiness and misery come and go, leaving only memories. Yes, life is a journey, and time makes our lives an ever-going on journey.

This semester, it seems that I don't have enough time and energy to do everything. Yes, I can do all the things I NEED to do, barely, but I don't have the time to do anything that I WANT to do, such as blogging. However, now that most of our projects are done(Only left resume for Event Communication and Principles of Marketing), I can blog now. When I think of what I want to type about here, I realise that this semester moves at a very fast pace. So fast that before I know it, it is just 1 more week of tutorials to go. So fast that there are so many things to write about, yet I don't know where to start. Despite of the stress and endless works to do, I somehow miss this school. Perhaps Poly life is really more interesting and carefree than Primary and Secondary school life, especially primary school life. I never miss my childhood.

Happy birthday Singapore

For some reasons, I wasn't blogging recently. But for now, I will just say happy birthday to Singapore. :-)

Common test over

My common tests have all ended, and know what? I am confident that I will pass all modules. Of course, MA2 was a killer. Even then, I could do it. Now, just want to catch up on some sleep before I start working on my nightmarish projects again. To be honest, hearing what my friends say about attachment, I treasure my time in school even more. Hope to further my study after my NS. By the way, saw "The Island" today after my last paper, Principles of Marketing. Action-packed, it is watchable. I saw it for Scarlett Johansson. She is so attractive..........
